I'm Mfundo, a UX enthusiast. I’m passionate about creating user-centred solutions to real-world problems. I’m currently a UX/UI designer at BET Software for Hollywoodbets.
I have over 15 years of design experience, started in graphic design; print, brand identity, campaign work at agencies in Durban. Then as a digital designer at major holdings company, followed by 6 years at MiWay Insurance, then Hollywoodbets.
In the last 3+ years at Hollywoodbets (BET Software) I have delivered over Eight products, including; GallopTV, both Horse racing Punters Challenge and Soccer Punters Challenge, HWB Premium Webiste and more.
I focus on real user needs, clear interaction, and clean, purpose-driven interfaces. Whether it’s simplifying workflows, boosting conversions, or guiding dev teams, I help businesses deliver better digital products. I lead design with data, empathy, and strategy, ensuring that every digital product I touch achieves both user satisfaction and meets business objectives.
In my time at HWB, I've mentored 3 brilliant juniors; Vukani Gcabashe, now dev at Capitec, Kwandokuhle Sithole, now Junior UX at BET Software, and Lwazi Ndimande, now Training Admin at Star Factory. I have the priviledge to work with them on both professional and "life stuff".
I run a fundraiser for school shoes for primary school kids in rural South Africa. If you can, chip in. Support the cause →

When creating a concept, my most important questions is: does this affect something a million South Africans do every day? If yes, it belongs on the list. If not, someone else can build it.
This may seem like a tall task but I believe it's an essential one. Fifteen million commuters moving through an industry with no digital layer. Millions of women navigating social platforms with minimal safety architecture. Millions of employees going to work daily, feeling invisible. Digital products should be used to improve real life situations.
South Africa’s most used transport system runs on informal knowledge passed between strangers. No routes. No fare transparency. No way to report the driver who frightened you. I designed something about that.
View Case Study →SA has some of the highest rates of gender-based violence in the world. Millions of women still open dating and social apps every day; because they want to connect, not because it’s safe. Konsent is what those platforms look like when safety is the foundation, not the afterthought.
In DevelopmentMillions of South Africans go to work every day and come home feeling invisible. Not only underpaid, but feeling unappreciated. This is where KudosHR comes in. KudosHR is peer-to-peer recognition concept that seeks to bridge the gaps of employees going unrecognised.
In ProgressRougher than the 9-5 work. More personal. Each one started with the same question: what do a million South Africans do every day that could be better?
I'm open to full-time roles, freelance collaborations, and conversations about ideas worth building.
